GIRP Fire, with Divination

Ave,

Performed the GIRP Fire as directed by divination-I needed to determine whether I should spend more time working with the force. Communion and divination revealed I needed to perform the GIRP once more for a specific purpose; to ask for Wisdom and Understanding of the element of Fire. I performed the battery as normal but with the recent addition of the LIRP directly before the GIRP, which worked quite well. I felt a receptivity to the force. The invocations hit me harder, in a good way.

After stating my intent and performing the Middle Pillar, I sat in the throne to meditate. I immediately saw a red triangle-a good sign. I continued the circulation, and then fell into vision. I felt as if I were an unborn infant. I was surrounded with red and gold, blood and flesh. I was still, and then I was struck! My heart began to beat, the bio-electricity flowed throughout me. The vision stayed here for a moment, and then I was born out into the world. At this point the perspective changed to the third person--I watched the baby as it took in it's first breath, and that breath was laced with Solar fire. The vision moved forward, and I saw myself as a teenager. My body again was lit with Fire, as the hormonal changes of puberty worked their magic to start another kind of growth. Again, the vision moved forward, and I lay with my wife-we are both transparent, and the Fire within us combines to empower new life. I asked where it went from there, but the vision was still--I felt it was being communicated that this was the natural culmination of that particular kind of Fire energy, that the life creating cycle was a sort of culmination. It was quite a vision.

It faded, and I continued to meditate upon the red triangle. Next, I saw myself projecting the red light that symbolizes fire, and I was struck yet again! The force that is Fire isn't something that can be visualized, it is formless by nature. The symbols I use to work with it are exactly that, symbols. They aren't the force itself, and each individual symbol may describe one aspect of the force but doesn't capture it's whole. Even the descriptions of Fire that we use (heat, expansion, growth) describe some functions of the force, but they aren't the force. For example- I am tall, dark skinned, with black hair and a burly build. This is an accurate description of my appearance, but the description isn't me. I'm not sure I'm describing this correctly, but it was a revelation.

The rest of the ritual went well. I was very grateful, and expressed my thanks. The subject of fire is massive, everyone of the elements is a multi-varied and subtle force. It will take more than one session to gain the full understanding of it, but all I need to do is meditate on the triangle to receive further vision, which I fully intend to do.

Working brujeria for others is often thankless and time consuming.

Sala Malongo, Man, y'all. I find that I now spend the vaaaaast majority of my sorcerous/meditative time doing work for others. Which is awesome in many ways, as I've gotten very skilled at what I do. I've got no time for the experimentation, though. No time just fooling about. Sometimes I'm tempted to just say fuck it, and return to just doing things for myself....but I'm a priest, a Tata Nkisi. So I have duties beyond entertainment, and beyond my own development. Gotta balance this stage in the life as well. It's interesting, at the very least. I would have been overjoyed when I was a young aspiring wizard in my 20's to have this kind of problem, haha. Now I look back wistfully at the days when I could meditate for 4 hours straight--or at all-without scheduling a meeting with myself on Google Calendar. Many of the folks who are clients become good friends, some become students, others end up becoming sorcerer/priests themselves. And they are a bless...

The disastrous effect of Pornography on Theurgy

Ave, First off.....I'm no Puritan. I'm a huge fan of sex and its healthy expression. I'm a 31 year old American fellow; I practically grew up on the interwebz, and that means plenty of nudity and porn. Especially during my relatively barbaric early twenties. Lots of men my age will tell you they never enjoyed porn, or rarely watched it when they were young. These men are filthy,  filthy liars. It didn't become so mainstream because it was watched so seldom. There may be the occasional gent who avoided partaking, but I give him no credit; that sort of avoidance, built on fear of discovery and hidden shame, is shameful in itself. Like with most things, better to dare, be burnt, and learn than to sit in front of the fire with a trembling cowardice in the face of overwhelming curiosity. Just stay off of /b on 4chan, and you'll come out alright. The issue with pornography isn't a Moral issue. As long as everyone involved is a willing participant, mor...

Animal sacrifice and the power of Life and Death

Nsala Malongo, Death and ritual sacrifice are very large components of my magical and religious practice, and I find that very seldom are they explored with any deep understanding of why they are useful and necessary for certain rites and practices. There is definitely a repugnance for the sacrifice for animals in the frankly White-er side of Western magical and religious practice. I've heard a number of persons rail against it as cruel and entirely unnecessary, that it is uncivilized and barbaric. Obviously I think these persons aren't examining their views deeply; rarely are these individuals persons who abstain from eating animals...they just don't get their hands "dirty". I never hear them complaining about how Jewish folk practice kosher religious slaughter, or even much about the Halal practices of some Muslim folks. Read a newspaper in any city with neighborhoods that have a  decent amount of ATR practicing folks and you'd think the death of a chicken...
