The above picture is of my Avatar and the temple I've made in Second Life-on online world where one can own land and interact with others. I made this primarily to interact with my students. The vast majority of my students live at long distance from me, and the majority of our interactions have been through email and other somewhat impersonal media. This has been fine for the most part as far as lessons go, but it didn't foster a sense of connection. It was also difficult to communicate some things using the written word alone.
In Second life, there is are visual representations of people that can be worked with, giving it a huge advantage over less interactive distance teaching methods. My students have a sense of place when they meet to receive instruction via lecture at the temple, or to ask Questions. They also have a sense of connection to myself and their peers that plain was not there before I started working with this method. It has proven to be an indispensable teaching aid-between the avatars and the auditory connection (you can speak and hear using headphones) I can communicate nuances in vibratory formula and execution that I could not before.

I keep the teaching sessions with my Golden Dawn students private, as my superiors within the Order require. I also have public sessions with non-GD students. In this day and age, where the teacher often finds himself hundreds-if not thousands-of miles away from the student, I think it is important that we learn to use online worlds to our advantage. They are wonderful tools if used correctly as a teaching medium.
If anyone would like to use my temple space for their own classes, just let me know. I don't use it everyday, and I have to pay for it whether it's being used or not. Might as well put it to work. Creating Avatars in second life is free; it is only land ownership that costs you. I have a seperate temple in SL that I use for the private Order Meetings, so there is always time and space available without conflict. So, if you need a medium to meet your students where you can all talk and Connect with each other-or a place to give lectures free of cost-as long as your teaching Magic of some sort you can come use my temple (Temple Nepthys).
